25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Gracie Chavez, Director who guided analysts on tour of facility. This is a preschool program which currently consists of 9 classrooms; 1A, 1C, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5A. All areas were identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The names of staff present and a census of children present were obtained during this inspection. There was a total of 92 children present with 9 staff members in the 9 classrooms inspected. The following was observed.
PHYSICAL PLANT
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were observed to be inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe. Each classroom was observe to have a smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. This facility practiced fire/emergency drill with children in care on 01/15/2025 per drill log located in the Director's office.
All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas were observed to be clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins had tight-fitting covers that were kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food had tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents.
