32 | There is a complete set of first aid supplies in classroom. The facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. LPA observed a fire extinguisher in the classroom last serviced on 8/11/25. The classroom has sprinkler system. Hazardous items including medicine and cleaning compounds are stored in inaccessible locked cabinet in classroom.
The outdoor play area is enclosed by fencing that is over 5 feet high and accessible through preschool classroom. There is adequate shade, age appropriate equipment, toys and materials. Surfaces and materials accessible to children appear to be toxic free.
Snack menus are posted at least one week in advance and are visible to an authorized representative. Meals and snacks are provided by the parents, the facility provides AM and PM snacks. Children have option to purchase hot lunch from school. Snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity, expiration dates and appropriateness for children in care. LPA observed the snack storage area (kitchen) to be in sanitary condition. LPA discussed with Director to constantly assess best by dates on food items that are removed from original packaging. LPA observed drinking water available (indoors and outdoors) and trash receptacles have tight fitting covers.
LPA reviewed the sign in and sign out form, all children present were being properly signed in and signed out by the authorized representative. The office is used as an isolation area for ill children.
Children's Records Review was conducted, 5 files were reviewed and found to be complete, with proper forms such as Identification and Emergency forms, Immunization records, Health History, Personal Rights, Parents Rights on file. The children's roster was available and current.
Staff Records were reviewed to ensure the following: Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, education credits, current CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices, proof of immunization against pertussis and measles and influenza and/or flu declination, Mandated Reporter training, LPA observed that 2 staff have a current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/1st aid (Completed in 2025) .
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
