25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced 3-Year random inspection to the above facility. At 11am, LPA met with licensee, Maria Solano. The licensee states that they currently has 7 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-6pm Monday-Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, kitchen, Art Area, Nap Room, baby room, living room, bathroom, laundry room, attached garage (child care Space), front yard (fenced) and backyard (fenced). The children use living room, art room, nap room, baby room, attached garage, and front yard (fenced). Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: bedrooms, laundry room, and backyard. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 3 adults and 0 minors currently live in the home. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 11:10am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home the living room was reviewed. There were age appropriate toys and furniture available. LPA observed high chairs present. Licensee states high chairs are only used for meal time. There is a safety gate that separates the kitchen from the living room. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children. At 11:20am, a fire extinguisher was observed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was purchased in 2023, as indicated on year notation of cannister. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. It was observed to fully charged. LPA advised licensee to keep a service tag or receipt present on the canister during the next year. LPA verified the canister present was new and current. There are first aid supplies available.
