25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. At 11am, LPA met with licensee Mayela Gil. The licensee states that they currently has 11 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 7am-6pm Monday- Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, front room, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use living room, bathroom by entrance, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the second floor, including all bedrooms, two bathrooms, detached garage, and front yard. .All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 0 children currently live in the home. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. There is an above ground jacuzzi in the backyard that meets Title 22 regulations.
At 11:10am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry to the home, LPA observed stairs leading to the second floor. Where children are less than five years old are in care, stairs are fenced or barricaded. There is a child safety gate which keeps stairs inaccessible to children. There were additional safety gates that separated the living room from the front of the home. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. The bathroom children use is next to the safety gate used to separate the living room from the front of home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children.
