25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 03/05/25 at 11:20 a.m. LPA met with director Irene Lopez who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program which consists of 2 buildings; building with address 324 consists of one classroom; Room#1 and building with address 324 ½ consists of one classroom Room #2. Per director, Room #2 is not being used due to low enrollment. Facility operates Monday- Friday 07:00 a.m. – 05:30 p.m. Per the director, there are 14 children enrolled. There is a waiver on file for the preschool and school age programs to share the playground on a staggered schedule.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The following staff was present during this inspection: Room #1 11 preschoolers with 01 staff and Room #2 0 preschoolers with 0 staff. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. Staff names were recorded on the attached LIC859. All children were observed to be under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. The licensed facility is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, sanitary and in good repair. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Drinking water was readily available indoors and outdoors. LPA observed a water jugs with disposable cups readily available. Staff take a water jug with disposable cups outdoors. LPA observed mats are used as napping equipment. All children have their own cubby. At this time, the "right side of the room" is used as an isolation area. A mat is available for an ill child to rest on. Children’s bathroom is safe and in sanitary conditions. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
