25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility. At 8:30am, LPA met with Licensee Xiao Guan. Also present during this inspection, is Licensee's Spouse/Assistant. The licensee states that they currently has 11 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8:30am-6pm Monday-Saturday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, detached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the living room, downstairs bathroom. Front yard and back yard are only used when weather permits and based on safety for children. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the entire second floor, including all bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, and detached garage. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 5 adults and 0 minors currently live in the home. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 8:40am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, the living room is observed. LPA observed 11 children present during inspection. There were age appropriate toys and equipment present for children in care to use. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. Per licensee, a corner of the living room will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. Fireplaces and open face heaters are inaccessible to prevent access by children. There was a safety gate that leads to the hallway and kitchen that makes the staircase in accessible to children in care. The bathroom children use is directly accessible from the living room. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children by safety latch. There are first aid supplies available.
