25 | On 12/06/2023 at 01:45 pm Licensing Program Analysts (LPA`s) Shushanik Safaryan and Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced required 3-year inspection at the above facility to ensure the health and safety standards required by regulations governing family childcare homes are being met. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee Courtney Vanis and informed the reason of the visit. LPA observed 4 children and licensee in outdoor play area. Per Licensee total 14 children enrolled. Licensees have morning and afternoon program Monday to Friday from 08:30 till 2:30pm.
Licensee guided analysts on a tour of the facility. Facility is two story home. Children don’t have access to the second floor, stairs to the second floor barricaded during childcare hours. Children have access to the front room (learning room), den (play area), bathroom, family room (isolation purposes for the sick child), backyard. The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. There are toys available for children. Per licensee kids bring their own lunch, snacks, and bottles of water.
.LPA`s observed 2 dogs outside in the backyard area not accessible to the children. Per licensee no firearms or body of water in the premises.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications were observed to be inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in a off limits area. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide and working telephone. Currently licensee uses landline and cellphone as a back up .
