32 | LPA then inspected the bathroom that is located in the hallway leading to the den area. No items were found that pose any risk to children. Next, LPA observed bedroom 1 which is used as an art studio. LPA then inspected the den area which is used as a play room and several age-appropriate toys were observed. LPA then walked through the double doors in the den leading to the backyard. The back yard, which is fenced, consist of several age-appropriate toys, activity stations and garden. All areas were observed to be clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. Per licensee, the facility provides snacks and lunch.
Per licensee, the living room is used as an isolation area when a child falls ill. A mat is provided if needed for child in care.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children.
LPA did not observe a working smoke / carbon monoxide detector. Per licensee, the smoke /carbon monoxide detector was not functioning and purchased a new one. LPA observed proof of purchase and smoke / carbon monoxide detector will arrive at the facility tomorrow, November 27, 2024. Per licensee, detector will be installed and functioning by the time children are back in session. 2A-10BC fire extinguisher was observed and serviced on 9/23/2024. There is a working telephone on site.
Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR, expires 7/23/2025.

The licensee has completed the online mandated reporter training at www.mandatedreporterca.com, expires on 07/06/2025. All childcare employees must complete mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire and renew training every two years.
Per the licensee, fire and disaster drills are conducted every 6 months; last drill documented and conducted on 11/20/2024.
Licensee has the required documents posted in the FCCH; Facility License (LIC 203), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610a), Notification of Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 394).
