On 10/18/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Mary Silva conducted licensee-initiated case management inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Program Director Sheena Minaya and Program Manager Yesenia Arteaga. This facility operates in the premises of Covina United Methodist Church. This is an infant program with a capacity of 33 children. There is a preschool program on the premises LIC#198018561. The facility has requested to temporarily use classroom #113 due to water damage in the Lambs Classroom. The infant program has two rooms, the Lambs classroom #102A and Bee’s classroom #102B. LPA was led on a tour the facility and observed 11 infants and 4 staff.

LPA observed all indoor activity space in room 113 to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, changing table and other activity supplies for the children. Room 113 is adjacent to the office. LPA observed a total of 1 sink, and 1 toilet available for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via Brita Water Jug. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children.

LPA observed and measured classroom #113 to ensure it meets the health and safety needs of the children in care. The total new indoor activity space measured 378 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested number of children (8). Program director stated repairs to the Lambs Room#102A are estimated to take 7-10 days. Once repairs are complete children will relocate to the Lambs Room #102A.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Appeal Rights were given.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Program Manager Yesenia Arteaga.
