25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA's) Roxana Lopez and Crystal Green conducted a case management- licensee initiated inspection on this date. LPAs met with Site Supervisor, Patty Arrua. The reason for today’s visit is to evaluate the facility requests to convert existing infant classroom # 9 currently serving 12-24 months to serve 0-12 months.
LPAs toured the facility and took census. This facility has 10 operating classrooms- # 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15. LPA’s inspected classroom # 9. Licensing staff observed the classroom to have age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the infant children. LPAs also observed a separate napping crib area with 8 cribs located within the classroom. The napping crib area was observed surrounded by a clear soundproof moveable wall that was measured to be 2.85 ft tall. Per Title 22 Section 101438.3 (b)(2)- Indoor Activity Space for Infants- Moveable walls or partitions, if used, shall be at least four feet high; shall be constructed of sound-absorbing material; and shall be designed to minimize the risk of injury to infants. Per Site Supervisor, the licensee will obtain a 4ft soundproof moveable wall around the designated napping/crib area.
LPAs continued to tour the designated infant outdoor play area. There is a door located within the classroom that leads directly into the designated Toddler outdoor play area. The designated Infant outdoor space is accessible via a gate that is adjacent to the Toddler outdoor space. Based on LPAs observation in order for the infants in classroom 9 to access their outdoor space a waiver must be requested and approved by the department. ---------------------- pg. 1 of 2 ------------------------------- |
