25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced case management licensee- initiated inspection to inspect facility for capacity increase determination. LPA met with Site Director, Angineh Hambarchian. The preschool operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
The facility is licensed to operate out of 7 classrooms: Starfish, Sea Horse, Sea Turtles, Dolphins, Whales, Red 1, and Red 2. The following was observed during this inspection: 9 children with 2 staff in Starfish classroom; 20 children with 4 staff in Sea Horse classroom; 11 children with 2 staff in the Sea Turtles classroom; 22 children with 4 staff in the Dolphin classroom. A total of 49 children with 7 staff was observed on the outdoor play area. The facility was observed to be operating within its licensed capacity. Licensee has requested to increase the license capacity from 135 to 175. The facility has installed additional toilets and sinks in Seahorse and Whale classrooms in order to obtain the requested capacity increase. The construction for the additional restrooms occurred during winter break while the children were not present. Per the Director, the space used to construct the additional bathroom space were previously used as storage areas. No changes were made to the indoor or outdoor activity space. LPA observed 2 toilets and 2 sinks with a changing table in the Seahorse classroom. In the Whales classroom, it was observed to have 2 toilets and 2 sinks available to the children. All toilets and sinks are in safe and sanitary operating conditions.
LPA did not observe any violations during this inspection. Measurements were not obtained during this inspection as the facility has adequate indoor and outdoor activity space to accommodate the request capacity. An approved Fire Clearance has been received by the department. The licensee request to increase capacity will be granted upon final review of the application documents.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Angineh Hambarchian.
A notice of site visit was given to the facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. |
