25 | On January 22, 2025, at 9:30AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted a Capacity Increase inspection. The home is currently licensed for a small family home. LPA met with Licensee, Ameerah Massey. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. LPA observed 7 children during inspection upon arrival (3 children were licensee’s).
Per Licensee, operation Monday through Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm and closed Saturday and Sunday. Licensee states they care for children 2 years to 10 years of age. There are currently 8 children enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off- limit areas. This is a one -story home that consists of 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry area, living room, garage, front yard, and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom in the kitchen area. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include 2 bedrooms, master bathroom, detached garage, kitchen, and front yard. The parents and children enter from the left side of the home near driveway. The main care areas include the activity room, kitchen dining area, half bathroom in kitchen, and backyard (fenced). The off-limit areas include 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, and front yard. The licensee provides food for children in care. Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. Per licensee, there are no pets on the premises. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via cellphone and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is a stand -alone window air conditioner in the kitchen and wall heater (barricaded) in the activity room used for ventilation and heat. The children use the back yard for activities. The backyard is fenced. Areas used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in areas designated for children. The applicant was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The value on the 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged, as indicated on receipt dated 09/05/2024.
