25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced random annual inspection to the above facility. At 11:10am, LPA met with Licensee Maria Santiago. Also present during this inspection, is Licensee's Assistant The licensee states that they currently has 7 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, front room, living room, laundry room, backdoor den, detached garage, front yard and backyard. The children use the front room, living room, laundry room (as walk way), bottom floor bathroom, backdoor den, and backyard. Per licensee, areas that are off limits to children and parents include: whole second floor (including all bedrooms and two bathrooms), kitchen, and detached garage. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 2 adults and 0 minors currently live in the home. All persons living in the home are identified on a confidential form. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 11:20am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, LPA reviewed the front room. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. There were age appropriate toys and materials present. LPA observed play yards for children in care to use as napping equipment. The tour continued into the front room extended area (living room). There were additional toys and materials. Per licensee, the living room will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. The entrance to kitchen was made inaccessible by safety gate.
