At 10:02 am LPA observed the children’s cots in Room 2 to be stacked on top of one another, and in Room 3 the children’s cots were observed to be stacked on their sides. In both Room 2 and Room 3 the children’s bedding was on the cots. In Rooms 2 and 3 children’s bedding were observed to be touching other children’s bedding and the bottom of the cots were observed to be touching the top of the children’s bedding. Children take their bedding home to wash twice weekly or as needed. Storage for children's belongings were inspected. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, a sick room next to the office is used as an isolation area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
Food menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and 3 snacks during the day. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and LPA inspected that any contaminated food is discarded immediately. At 10:27 am, LPA observed unlabeled food in baggies of pancakes, bagels and English muffins in the refrigerator and unlabeled baggies of crackers, cereal, cheerios, and macaroni in the dry-storage pantry. No expiration date for the contents of the baggies was observed by LPA.
Children in all 3 classrooms bring refillable water bottles with names on them from home and there is water in a jug available to refill the water bottles as needed. Children’s water bottles from the classroom are taken outside during outdoor play time, and the water jug is taken outside to refill the bottles as needed. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting
