25 | An unannounced Annual Required Inspection was conducted on 06/18/2021 at 9:30 AM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. Facility is a before and after school program servicing school-age children. The facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 65 but due to COVID-19 public health measures facility is operating at a max capacity of 14 at this time. Licensing staff met with Director. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors. License, Emergency Disaster plan, and Car Seat information was posted at time of inspection.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 0 children and a total census of 1 teacher present. The facility is made up of one classroom. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPA observed water fountains to be covered, following COVID-19 protocols. Per Director they provide drinking water via a Brita water filter and children bring their own water bottles to fill up. At 9:38 AM, LPA observed Brita water filter inside the refrigerator. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. Toys observed to be clean.
A first aid kit is kept in cabinet on top of cubby area to the right upon entry. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present in the facility. Fire extinguishers have been serviced in May 21, 2021. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible to children. Per Director, they are in a locked cabinet.
Snack/lunch menus were reviewed. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. Breakfast is served at the facility at 8:30 AM and snack provided at 2:00 PM.Report Continues - Page 1 of 3 |
