25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Nolan Tcheng and Mariah Aguirre conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. At 1:50pm, LPAs met with licensee Xiao Ji Huang. Also present during this inspection, is Licensee’s Assistant. Licensee is primarily Cantonese speaking. Licensee's child was present and assisted with interpreting. The licensee states that they currently has 12 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-7om Monday-Saturday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room, detached garage, large shed, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the living room, bathroom, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: bedrooms, detached garage, and large shed. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 3 adults and 1 minor currently live in the home. Persons living in the home are identified on a confidential document. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 2pm, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Per licensee, the white board area in the living room will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. There were plenty of age appropriate toys and equipment for children in care. LPA observed napping equipment in the form of mats. Equipment is stored in the living room.There were two play yards available in care. Safe sleep was discussed. The tour continued into the hallway to the bathroom. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children. There are first aid supplies available.
