25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. At 8:35am, LPA met with licensees, Wen Bao and Mei Yu. Also present during this inspection, are licensees' assistants. The licensee states that they currently has 9 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, kitchen, additional kitchen, dining room, back living room used for children play, play room, room designated for napping, front living room (FIREPLACE: in front living room, off limits area of house), three-car garage, front yard and backyard (fenced), and garden. The children use the bathroom in the hallway next to the back living room, back living room, play room, nap room, backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: upstairs (including bedrooms), kitchen, front living room, dining room, garage, front yard, and garden area of backyard. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 1 Minor currently live in the home. Persons living in the home are identified on a confidential document. Licensee states that they currently have two assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 8:45am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Children are walked down the driveway and dropped off at the back sliding door. Upon entry into the home, the back living room is reviewed. There are age appropriate toys and equipment present. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. There was a narrow spiral staircase available in the room that is blocked off by a safety gate. A fire extinguisher was observed. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was purchased this year, per Licensee.. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. LPA explained that a receipt is required to verify that the canister is serviced. REPORT CONTINUES PAGE 1 of 3
