25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection to evaluate the facility's request to reduce the Infant program capacity and add a new toddler option program. Licensing staff met with Director Christine Jennings. This facility also has a preschool program (198020513) located on the same premises that is physically separate from both indoors and outdoors. Hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 7am to 6:30pm.
Licensing staff was guided through a tour of the proposed toddler option classroom and outdoor area. This Infant Program consists of 3 classrooms. Room 1 (The Ocean), Room 2 (The Farm), and Room 4 (The Forest). The Licensee is requesting to remove Room 4 (The Forest) from infant use and designate for toddler use. No alterations have been made to the exterior or interior of the facility.
During this inspection, LPA observed 5 children with 2 staff in Room 1. In Room 2, there were 12 children with 3 staff and Room 4 had 11 children with 3 staff. LPA observed the proposed toddler classroom to have a physically separate classroom with its own entrance within the facility. The facility was observed to be operating within its licensed capacity. There are age-appropriate toys available for children in care. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA observed drinking water available via water cooler with disposable cups. LPA observed a restroom to be located inside of Room 4 along with a changing table. There are age-approriate toilets available. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions.
Licensing staff was guided through outdoor space. The outdoor space was observed to have a designated space for Toddlers. LPA observed the area to be physically separate from the designate Infant area. The outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the outdoor play area. |
