25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Mary Silva conducted a Case Management - Licensee Initiated visit for the purpose of evaluating a request for a capacity increase from 8 to 14. LPA met with Licensee Jacqueline Barragan who guided LPA on a tour. LPA observed three children during this visit. Per Licensee, there are 5 children currently enrolled. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM-5:00PM. Fire clearance for a capacity of 14 was granted on 08/21/23.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a single-story home, that consists of two-bedrooms, two-bathrooms, Kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, side back yard and detached garage. Also, on the property are two guest homes, first guest home consists of three bedrooms and one bathroom where 2 adults and 2 minors reside. The second guest home consist of one bedroom and one bathroom where 2 adults reside. Currently residing in the home are 7 adults and three minors. There was a total of two adults present during this inspection, Licensee, and Licensee’s assistant.
Areas accessible to children and parents were inspected as follows: Living room that is designated for daycare, one bathroom located by the entrance, one bedroom used to access the backyard and side back yard. Parents and children enter through the front gate and back gate that leads to the Day Care area. Areas off limits include Kitchen, dining room, one bedroom, one bathroom, both guest homes, detached garage, laundry room, and front yard. Licensing staff reminded licensee bedrooms must be made inaccessible to children if they are designated to be off limits. LPA observed a fireplace in the living room barricade by a mesh and two long cubbies.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons or firearms in the facility. Page 1 of 2 |
