32 | 2PM Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were observed to be inaccessible to children. Lydia Guerrero, states there are no poisons, weapons or firearms on the premises.
Furniture, equipment and toys were observed and inspected to be clean, safe and age appropriate and in good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Preschool children have their own cubby to store their personal belongings. LPA observed napping equipment/bedding for children to be in good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. Parents will bring child own linen. The linens will be taken home weekly on Fridays by child’s authorized representative for laundering.
Menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. This facility will provide AM and PM snacks and parents can bring their child's own lunch or they have an option to purchase a hot lunch from an outside vendor (Cator Tots) used by the facility. Food preparation area is in the kitchen and snacks and lunches will be stored in the kitchen only. The licensee takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair.
There is drinking water available indoors and outdoors by use of pitchers and disposable cups, as well as the child own labeled zippy cup.
There is a fully equipped first aid kit available in each of the classrooms and a main large first aid kit will be located in the Directors office. If any lifesaving medication are needed they will be stored in a locked cabinet in each of the staffs own class room for that specific child.
Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPA observed there are fire extinguishers located right outside each class room and inside each class room are dual smoke detectors with carbon monoxide detectors that meets statutory requirements. No disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other hazardous items that are dangerous to children were observed to be accessible.
