25 | On 08/08/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kruz Long conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival, LPA Long was greeted by licensee Silvia Pico. LPA observed 4 infants and 4 toddlers in care. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6AM to 5PM.
This is a two-story house with: 1st floor: Living room, family room, kitchen, dining area, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, laundry room and an attached garage. 2nd floor: 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Currently residing in the family child care home: Licensee, husband, 2 adult children and 1 minor child.
The day care takes place in the family room, kitchen, dining area and rear yard.
The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated. Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher and working mobile telephone. There are barricades for off limit areas. Fireplaces is screened to prevent access by children.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current First Aid and CPR, expires 03/2025. The provider conducts physically check on the infants every 15 minutes. The Individual Infant Sleeping Plan is maintained in the infant’s file and available to the Department for review.
