32 | old class (Lillies classroom) had asked for help because teacher had 12 children and out of one of those children the child was potty training and child asked to use the potty. When teacher in Lilies class asked for help from the Director the director Megna Sahni said, “No I cannot help you because I am about to host a meeting for infant’s class”.
LPA interviewed staff. Staff confirmed that in August 2025, the facility Director conducted training for infant classroom teachers. All staff corroborated with never being left out of ratio and never denying a child to use the restroom. All staff interviewed stated that they do not withhold restroom access from children and that assistance is requested when needed to maintain compliance with ratio and supervision requirements even when in ratio and if the director is unavailable that they will send someone to assist as needed. Staff #3 stated that in August 2025, they were assigned to the two-year-old classroom, Lilies classroom and were in ratio with a co-teacher, staff #6. Staff #3 stated that they recall having approximately 12 children in care and indicated that if assistance is needed, staff typically request help in order to maintain ratio and supervision. Staff #3 stated that they do not recall the specific child involved. Staff#3 indicated that staff #6 was in ratio at that time and was unsure as to why Staff#6 was requesting for help if staff#6 was in ratio. Staff #3 does recall an incident that Staff#6 mentioned to staff#3. Staff #3 says its easier when they get help even when in ratio. Staff #3 reported that they would not deny a child access to the restroom due to lack of assistance when in ratio, they will figure it out. Staff #3 stated that if assistance is not available, staff would take the group of children with them to the restroom in order to maintain ratio and to ensure the child uses the potty room and not be denied. Additionally, staff #3 stated that children who are potty training are routinely taken to the restroom approximately every 30–45 minutes, and staff monitor children for signs indicating the need to use the restroom. Staff #3 stated that restroom access is not withheld from children and confirmed that staff would ensure children are accompanied to the restroom even if multiple children must be taken at one time to maintain ratios. Staff #3 also stated that the restroom for the two-year-old classroom is located across the hallway from the classroom.
Per the facility Director, it was stated that on August 27, 2025, the facility conducted staff training for infant classroom teachers related to a prior deficiency cited on the infant license. The Director stated that she does not recall a teacher requesting assistance to allow a child to use the restroom, noting that the incident occurred a long time ago. The Director stated that staff are expected to provide restroom access to children as needed and that assistance is provided to staff when requested, even when staff are in ratio. The Director |
