25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. At 1:10pm, LPA met with licensee, Todd Hioki. Also present during this inspection, Licensee's Assistants. The licensee states that theycurrently has 9 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 9am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room (block room), living room, den (sunroom), detached garage (office), front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use one bedroom as play room, living room, dining room (block room), sunroom (den), back yard, and side yard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: main bedroom, two bathrooms, kitchen, detached garage (office), and front yard. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected.
The licensee states that 2 adults and 0 children currently live in the home. Persons living in home are identified on the attached LIC811. Licensee states that she currently has 4 assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
PHYSICAL PLANT
At 1:20pm, LPA was lead on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry in to the home, LPA reviewed the living room area which at this time is used as a reading room or for games. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. Immediately to the left of the living room is the dining room, which is used for building blocks. The tour continued to the right of the living room where there was a play room with age appropriate toys and equipment for children to use. Per licensee, the play room will be used as an area for an ill child until an authorized representative comes to pick up child. Adjacent to the play room is the bathroom available for children in care to use. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children.
