32 | LPA tour the outdoor space located next to the preschool classrooms. LPA observed the outdoor area to be designated for the elementary school children. Per the Director, the applicant is requesting a waiver to share usage of the elementary school playground using a staggered play schedule. LPA observed the playground to have a paved bike path with a climbing play structure. The playground area was observed to have adequate shading provided via canopies. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, and slides were observed to have wood chips cushion material to absorb a fall. The children will have water accessible outdoors via their personal sippy cup.
This facility will also offer a lunch program to the children in care, or the parents will provide prepared snacks and lunch for the child. Food brought into the classroom from the lunch program will already be prepared. No transportation will be provided by the facility.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
