25 | On 12/17/24 at 2:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Li conducted a collateral visit to interview a child regarding an incident at the Pueblo Child development EHS program. Child attends De Alwis FCC after Pueblo CDC EHS. LPA met with Licensee Savithri De Alwis who guided LPA on a tour of the FCC. Census was taken. There were 4 children and 2 adults home. LPA stated purpose for visit and Licensee notified LPA that the child was absent today due to an appointment.
During todays visit, LPA interviewed licensee regarding child's temperament and speech and reviewed child's file. Photos of documents were captured. Per licensee, child started in her program in April 2024. LPA inquired about if child had speech therapy. She was unaware. Pee licensee, child is very vocal and she can understand him well. She states that he is really active and wants to know everything. Licensee states that he asks lots of questions and is very playful with other children. Per licensee, he listens well and follows instructions, he can be overly active sometimes in large crowd environments. Per licensee, child loves younger children and loves to be a helper, when he sees other children not listening, he will tell the adults.
Licensee states that the mom understands English and can speak some English. She has an older daughter that also helps communicate things when needed.
Based on information obtained during this visit, additional follow up is necessary regarding the incident. No deficiencies are being cited at this time.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Savithri De Alwis.
