25 | On 08/12/2024 at 10:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Crystal Green conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant Representatives, Talin Elmedijan and Alin Matossian. The Applicant, The Busy Mind, LLC., has requested to be licensed for 30 preschoolers ages 2 to 5 years old in classroom 1 and classroom 2. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA observed this facility to have 2 floors. The first floor contains classroom 1. The main office is located on the second floor along with classroom 2. LPA informed the applicant representatives that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Alin Matossian stated that they will be stored in a locked cabinet located within the office. A fully equipped first aid kit is located throughout the facility. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located throughout the facility. All required licensing documents were observed posted next to the main entrance to the facility. Children will be signed in and out outside at the main entrance.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 1129.10 square footage, which can accommodate the requested capacity of 30 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water will be available in the classrooms via disposable water bottles and the children’s personal water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 4/25/2024 by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
