32 | LPA informed licensee, that detached converted garage can only be used for limited activity only. LPA informed licensee that children can not eat or sleep in the detached garage.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. At 9:00 AM the licensee began touring LPA’s through the home starting with the entry way which lead directly to the living room. The living room was inspected, and electrical outlets were observed to be covered. LPA observed sofas and a coffee table in the living room. LPA observed one child was playing in the living room. LPA observed a decorative fireplace in the living room. Next to the living room, the kitchen was inspected, and LPA child safety latches on the cabinets where applicant stores sharp items and cleaning compounds. There is a door in the kitchen which leads to the backyard. Next LPA toured the two off-limit bedrooms and one off-limit bathroom in the hallway and did not observe any hazards. LPA observed plastic doorknob on the off-limit bedrooms and bathroom doors. Next LPA toured the master bedroom (daycare area) and observed a crib, napping cots and children’s toys in the master bedroom. There is a door in the master bedroom which leads to the backyard. Next LPA toured the bathroom in the master bedroom and observed child safety latch on the shower door and on the cabinet under the sink. There is a bathtub in the bathroom that licensee uses as storage. Per licensee, she keeps the bathtub as storage all the time. LPA observed licensee's family members personal belongings in the home. LPA observed the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher was anchored to the wall in the hallway of bedroom in the laundry area. It was serviced on 12/10/24 as read by LPA from the service tag. Licensee tested the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in the master bedroom. It sounded off the alarms and heard by LPA to be functional. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children.
Next LPA toured the backyard fenced. Per licensee, children use the back yard for outdoor play time. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that can pose a danger to children on the outdoor yard. The licensee states that supervision is always provided.
Per licensee, she provides food for children in care. Licensee was advised that if food is brought from the children’s homes, all containers must be labeled with child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. Per Licensee, at 9:30 a.m there are no pets, weapons, firearms, pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water on the premises. REPORT CONTINUES ON NEXT PAGE 2 of 5 |
