LPA continued to tour the facility and measured the requested indoor and outdoor activity space. The total school-age indoor activity space measured 1513.09 square footage, which can accommodate the requested preschool capacity of 24 children. LPA did not obtain measurements for existing licensed indoor areas.
LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Infant toys are safe with no sharp edges, splinters, or points, nor made of small parts that can present a choking hazard. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filter water pitcher and child’s personal drinking bottle. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 07/12/2024. This facility will provide transportation to school-age children.
LPA observed a total of (4) sinks and (2) toilets available for the school-age children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested school-age capacity of (24) children. School age restrooms afford privacy for the children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the staff restroom located near the Director’s Office.
Facility will provide AM/PM snacks and Lunch. There is a kitchen area on site that includes refrigerator, stove, sink, food prep counter, and microwave. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed to be free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children.
The facility currently has (3) fully fenced playground area designated Infant, Preschool and the School age program. Fencing is made of wrought iron which is at least four feet high. The total square footage for the outdoor activity space for the school-age program measured for 2,285.67 square footage, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested school-age capacity. LPA observed each playground to be physically separated by a wrought iron fence. LPA did not obtain measured for the designated Infant and Preschool outdoor activity areas. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking water is available via children personal water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. |
