25 | Visit conducted in Spanish On 11/8/2024 at 9:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Carolyn Tuba conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for the above address. LPA met with Licensee, Maria Aquino. This is a relocation from facility number #192009660 for a large family childcare license. A fire clearance has been approved prior to the visit. The facility is part of the caseload that is currently assigned to LPA, Nolan Tcheng.
LPA took a census of 1 child in care who lives in the home. Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the home. Individuals residing in the home are 4 adults and 1 child. Per Licensee, hours of operation will be from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM from Monday to Sunday and will not exceed 24-hour care at any time. Licensee states that she will care for children 3 months to 12 years of age.
This is a Townhouse within a gated community and is 2 -stories which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, formal living room, dining room, kitchen, garage, back patio and a sitting area located upstairs. Areas off limits to children include the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, garage. The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Parents will be provided an access code to be able to enter the gated community. Stairs have a child proof gate to keep children from going to the upper floor. The kitchen will have a child-proof gate to keep children from entering.
Knives and other sharp utensils are kept out of reach of children. Cleaning products and laundry detergents are kept in the laundry area which is enclosed with accordion doors near the kitchen area and is locked with a child proof lock. Medication was removed from the kitchen and will be kept upstairs in the bedrooms which is an off-limit area.
