25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Nolan Tcheng and Priscilla Ochoa conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. At 1:30pm, LPAs met with licensee Maria Aquino, who is primarily Spanish speaking. Also present during inspection is Licensee's Assistant. LPA Ochoa assisted with Spanish interpretation. The licensee states there are currently 11 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 5:00 am - 4:00 am Monday-Friday.
This is a two-story home in a gated community which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, upstairs living room, attached garage, and back patio space. The children use living room, bottom floor bathroom, and dining area. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: the upstairs, bedrooms, upstairs bathrooms, kitchen, attached garage, and back patio. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 4 adults and 1 minor currently live in the home. All persons living in home are identified on a confidential form. Licensee states that they currently have one assistant. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 1:45PM, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, LPAs observed the living room area. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. LPAs observed age appropriate toys and materials for children in care. There are first aid supplies available. Fireplaces and open face heaters are inaccessible to prevent access by children. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. LPA observed napping equipment in the form of cots. Equipment is stored in living room nook.
