25 | On 9/12/2024 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Joshua Ortega and Claudia Kam conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPAs met with Director, Cruz Meneses, who guided analyst on tour of facility at 09:35AM. This is a preschool program located at Euclid Elementary. The preschool program operates in two sessions (AM and PM) in one classroom. Days of operation: Monday - Friday. Hours of operation: AM session: 8AM-11:30AM and PM Session: 12:30PM to 4PM.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. LPAs observed three Staff and director with 15 children during the AM session. The following was observed during tour of facility:
PHYSICAL PLANT - Upon entry the classroom consists of dramatic play, circle time area , art area and library area. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that may pose a danger to children, were observed to be inaccessible. Director states there are no poisons in the facility. Per Director there are no medications stored in the facility at the moment. LPA Ortega observed the cleaning supplies stored in a cabinet above the hand washing sink. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe. Children share the restroom with the elementary school ETK Class. The toilet was observed to be in good condition. The sink in the restroom is being shared and per the Director, it is sanitized before and after the cohort uses it.
Kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available via delivery service by Sparklets. Children are served water as needed during the day in disposable cups.
