25 | AMENDED REPORT: TO INDICATE LICENSEE's SMALL DOG IS KEPT INACCESSIBLE TO CHILDREN.
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Catalina Bonilla who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival, LPA observed the Licensee and cleared adult assistant caring for 10 children (seven preschool, three infants). Per Licensee there are 10 children enrolled attending at various times. Individuals residing in the home have been noted.
At Approximately 1:40pm LPA conducted an inspection of all areas of the facility sketch. This is a one story home consisting of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, front and back yard, and garage. The Licensee provides care in the living room, two bedrooms, dining area, bathroom and backyard. The Licensee uses baby gates to ensure the kitchen is inaccessible to children in care. All other bedrooms and are inaccessible by baby gate and/or door knob covers. LPA informed Licensee to ensure that items such as lotions, perfumes, colognes, nail polish, and similar items are always inaccessible.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. LPA observed safe toys and play equipment indoors and outdoors. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has one small dog. LPA allows the dog to be accessible to children. LPA observed the dog be friendly however LPA advised Licensee to provide extra care and supervision as animals may be unpredictable. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. LPA informed Licensee that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. LPA reminded Licensee to ensure that all medicines, chemicals, cleaners, paints, sharp objects, grills, propane, and similar hazardous items must be inaccessible at all times.
Per Licensee there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any. The Emergency Disaster Plan, Parents Rights and License was posted on a poster board. Per Licensee there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water and LPA did not observe any on the premises. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher is fully charged and is due for service August 2023. |
