25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alicia Mooberry and Rosaura Valenzuela conducted a Required Annual Inspection on this date. Upon arrival at 10:20am LPAs met with Covena Stewart,Licensee who provided tour of facility. LPA explained the purpose of inspection and provided the inspection Entrance Checklist, LIC 126. LPA inspected rooms/areas on the facility sketch in which child-care services are provided and to which children have access, as well as off limit areas. Per licensee the hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30-6:00pm. There were 6 children present during visit, including 2 infant. Also present was Kevin Walker, resident and Zaion Marshall, a volunteer. Per licensee the volunteer is not alone with children and is only present on this day. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, den, living room, backyard, garage, and front yard.
Areas used by children garage (converted to daycare area, bathroom (by garage), living room, dining room, den and backyard. LPA observed that there is a wood burning fireplace in the living room with glass doors observed to be locked. LPA observed no signs of use.
Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: Entire Upstairs which include 4 bedrooms and 2 restroom upstairs, kitchen and side yard. There is a mesh barrier at the foot of the stairs leading to 2nd floor. The licensee was reminded that as long as there are children age 5 and under, the barrier has to be maintained.
Areas that are used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation and heating. Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours. The licensee does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
