25 | This is an unannounced Required Annual Inspection conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Alicia Mooberry. At 3:25pm LPA arrived at the facility and met with Diana Ordaz, Licensee, who provided tour of the home. At 3:30 LPA took census and observed 14 children in care (including 2 infants) alone with licensee, licensee is over the capacity limitations of the license, this poses an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care. At 3:35 LPA observed Child #1, 19 month old infant, sleeping on the sofa in the facility living room, this poses a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.
LPA provided and explained the inspection Entrance Checklist, LIC 126 to licensee.
Per licensee the hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:30pm. At 4:00pm Consuelo Rodarte, Assistant arrived at the facility, bringing the facility into capacity. All adults present have obtained the required background clearance. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted.
This facility is a single family home that consists of two (2) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, living room, dining room, den, kitchen, shaded and enclosed patio, and attached garage.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
Areas used by children include: Living room, dining room, kitchen, den, bathroom, and shaded patio and enclosed yard.
Areas off limits include: Bedroom 1 and bedroom 2, attached garage.
The home was observed to be clean and orderly and has central heating and air conditioning. There are outlet covers throughout the home. LPA observed knives and sharp objects in kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning products are stored in locked cabinet under kitchen sink as well as bathroom sink. Licensee was reminded to check locks regularly to make sure they are working. Page 1 – Report Continues
