25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 07/21/22. LPA arrived at the facility at 12:50 and met with licensee, Mario Amaro, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection was an assistant, S2. Per Licensee, there are 5 children that are currently enrolled. There were 2 children present upon arrival.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, a detached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The off limit areas include 1 bedroom, kitchen/dining room, living room, detached garage and front yard.
The main care area is located in bedroom 1. LPA observed a couch, age appropriate toys, a cieling fan, a small refrigerator, child sized chairs and child sized tables. A medicine cabinet was observed to have first aid supplies and over the counter medicine. Sleeping mats and a play pen were also observed in bedroom 1. The bathroom designated for children in care was observed to be clean and free of defects. The outdoor play area was observed to have perimeter fencing and adequate shade. Play equipment for children was observed to be free of sharp and/or pointy parts. A storage shelf was observed to hold additional day care supplies in the outdoor play area. A plastic bin located on top of the storage shelf was observed to have cleaning supplies. The licensee states that he provides food for children in care. Per licensee, isolation area for children showing signs of illness will be located in bedroom 2 while the child awaits parent pick up.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home.
