25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susann Sanchez conducted an unannounced case management inspection for an increase in capacity at the above facility on 05/18/2023 at 2:30 PM. LPA met with Michelle David, Licensee who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Small Family Child Care Home. There were 6 children and 1 infant with the Licensee when LPA arrived. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Small Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:00 pm and does not to exceed 24 hour care at one time. Licensee states that she will care for children Infants -12 years of age.
At 2:35pm all areas were inspected. This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathroom, daycare room, kitchen, living room, garage, front and backyard. Areas used by children include: Daycare Room, bathroom located downstairs, and front yard. Areas off limits include: All of upstairs, kitchen, living room, (1) bedroom downstairs/office, garage and backyard.
The off limit areas are inaccessible by a safety gates and door knobs expect the stairs. At 2:35pm, LPA observed there was not a gate at the bottom of the stairs or around the stairs. Per Licensee, a contractor will be adding a stair railing and a gate.
Knives and other sharp utensils are located in high cabinet in the kitchen. Cleaning products were located in cabinets locked with safety latches under the sink in kitchen.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
The home is clean and orderly, there are outlet covers throughout the home. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector were observed, tested and found to be operable.
