25 | On 6/29/22 at Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeanette Estrada conducted an unannounced case management inspection at 1021 S. Bonnie Beach Pl Los Angeles CA 90023. The purpose of this inspection is to inspect and evaluate the facility for an increase in capacity. The facility is currently licensed as a small. LPA Estrada met with Licensee, Maxima Zuniga. Operating hours will be Monday to Sunday 12AM to 11:59PM and care will be provided for children ages 0 to 12 years. All residents living in the home were discussed and verified. An approved fire clearance was received on 6/13/22.
This is a 3 bedroom/1 bathroom home with a front play area, living room, kitchen and back outdoor area. There are two additional homes that sit on the same premises. The back outdoor area of the home pertains to one of the additional homes. The back entrance of the home is maintained locked. The additional homes have separate addresses.
Areas on limits to children: Front outdoor play area, 1 bedroom, bathroom and living room. The living room is used as the main play area. The front yard is fenced off from the rest of the driveway. The other residents of the other homes have access to the driveway.
Off Limit areas: 2 bedrooms and kitchen. One of the bedrooms is accessed through the kitchen. This bedroom is kept locked. The Licensee has installed a safety gate blocking access from the living room to the kitchen. The other off limits bedroom is accessed through the living room. This bedroom also remains locked during operating hours and it has a safety knob installed as well. This bedroom is also accessed through the on limits bathroom. The applicant has installed a safety door knob on the door in the bathroom. .
Areas accessible to children were inspected the for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phone (cell phone). Children nap and eat in the living room. LPA observed children napping on mats. Per licensee bed sheets are sent home weekly or as needed to be laundered. LPA observed an A/C unit in the living room. A portable heater will be used for heating and will be kept inaccessible to children. The bathroom children use is in between the on limits bedroom and one of the off limits bedrooms.
