25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Raul Navarro conducted a pre-licensing inspection on 01/05/2023 at 8:55 AM. LPA met with Licensee Alma Campos who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Licensee is requesting a change of location for a large family childcare home license. Per License, operating hours will be Monday through Saturday, 5AM to 9PM. Applicant states that she will care for children infant-12 years of age.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a two story home that consists of three bedrooms and three restrooms. Areas that the children will use include living room, kids play room, rear play room, one bathroom, and back yard. Off limit areas include, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, coffee area, laundry room, and front yard. Rooms are made inaccessible with a child lock and baby gates. The Applicant understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary. Individuals in the home have been discussed and noted.
Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness. LPA observed equipment, toys and age appropriate material for children in the main care areas. LPA observed operable telephone service via cell phone. Detergents and cleaning compounds that can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible, and are stored in the laundry room which is off limits to the children in care.
Medication and knives are stored in a locked kitchen cabinet. LPA did not observe hazardous items in the kitchen. The Licensee was advised that any poisons must be locked, not only inaccessible. Children will nap on cots or mats in the kids play room and living room.
Per Applicant, there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises.
