25 | 7/23/24, at 9:40AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) T. Tran arrived at the above licensed facility to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee, Maria Fernandez-Silva, her employee and observed 6 children in care. LPA announced the purpose of today’s visit. About 10:00 AM, we toured the accessible areas of the home. All adults have fingerprinted cleared and associated to the licensed facility. LPA observed proper care and supervision of children and ratios. The current hours of operation are 5:00AM-2:00AM; Monday through Sunday.
LPA observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC-9213-Notice of site visit, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent’s rights poster, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Shaken Baby Syndrome Poster, and safe sleep poster.
This is a two story dwelling. The first floor consists of two living rooms, three bedrooms, and a kitchen. The first living room and the two bedrooms were converted into the daycare area with a full bathroom. The second living room, one bedroom, kitchen, and one bathroom is off-limits to children in care. The entire second floor with five bedrooms and two bathroom are off-limits to daycare children. The enclosed backyard with a detached garage with a jacuzzi properly locked and covered. LPA observed the daycare areas equipped with learning materials.No sharp objects or chemical compounds accessible to children in care. The licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The licensee is reminded that smoking is prohibited on the premises. LPA informed the effects of lead exposure for children between ages 1-6 years old are the most at risk for lead poisoning. A copy of lead exposure was provided.
LPA observed all posting requirements accessible to all parents. Licensee had current CPR/First Aid certificates (Exp. 5/2025), fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector meet regulations. Cleaning materials and medications are inaccessible, Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. The home conducted emergency disaster drill on a monthly basis. Children’s records were reviewed and completed. LPA observed two small dogs were kept on the side of the home |
