32 | LPA observe a trash can with a tight fitting lid in the playground.
LPA Navarro inspected and observed the bathroom to be in good condition with working toilets, and sinks. LPA observed hand soap dispenser and a touch free hand dryer. LPA observed a total of three toilets and three sinks. The lobby will be used as the ill isolation area, away from the other children. The staff restroom located near the lobby will be designate as the ill isolation restroom. Per Licensee a mat will be provided if the ill child needs to lay down while they wait for their parent to arrive.
Heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated by LPA Navarro. LPA observed central AC/heater and vents located on the classroom walls. LPA observed a thermostat located in the hallway that controls all temperature of all the rooms.
LPA observed a required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicating fully charged and purchased on October 2023. LPA Navarro tested the smoke/carbon monoxide alarms and they are in operable condition. LPA also tested the the pull-down fire alarm, which is fully functional. LPA Navarro observed the first aid kits to be fully stocked with bandages, adhesives, antiseptic, gloves, and scissors. LPA observed napping equipment (mats) to be stored in the hallway closet.
Per Director, parents will provide lunch for their children. The program will provide am and p.m. snacks. A monthly snack menu is available and posted by the main entrance and will be posted in each classroom. Per Licensee, the facility will be providing water pitchers for each classroom and water disposable cups. The facility will have water delivered from an outside vendor. LPA observed the food preparation area to be clean and free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin and storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins with tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision of children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance and exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
