25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection to the above mentioned address on 03/19/24 at 9:30 AM. LPA met with licensee, Shanice Brown, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. LPA observe one child present during this inspection. Children present living in the home and were verified via LIC 279B. Individuals that reside in the home have been noted and discussed. The licensee is requesting an address change to her large family childcare home license. Per applicant, operation hours will be Monday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and then 12:00 PM to 6:00AM. Applicant states that they will care for children 0-14 years old.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a one story home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, kitchen, front yard and backyard (fenced). Off limit areas include 1 bedroom, kitchen, and front yard. The applicant understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Main care areas include the living room, bedroom 1 and bedroom 2. The living room was observed with child sized tables, child sized chairs, a wooden locker for personal belongings/storage, age appropriate toys, and children board games. Wall space has been designated at the entrance of the living room for required postings. A wall heater was also observed with a Richell wooden cover, and is operable. Bedroom 1 was observed with a baby changing station, 3 high chair feeding tables, and a television. Bedroom 2 was observed with a couch, television, and a Pomo Babe pack and play playpen. Per licensee, the kitchen will be off-limits to children in care. During the inspection, LPA observed the kitchen to be accessible to children. Licensee states she will provide food for children. LPA advised applicant that food that is brought from a child's home must be labeled and properly stored or refrigerated. The bathroom was observed to be clean with an operable sink, faucet and toilet. The outdoor play area is located in the backyard. LPA observed perimeter fencing, two storage sheds, child sized picnic tables, additional age appropriate toys, outdoor play equipment and a tether ball pole. Locks were not observed on both the storage sheds. Per applicant there is a pet dog that is kept in the off-limits bedroom.
