32 | The Infant/ Toddler program will consist of 2 classrooms: Infant (pink tower) and Toddler (color tablets). The total indoor activity space measured for the infant with toddler component 3665.37 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 48 children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via Brita water dispenser which are filled in the kitchen sink. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on December 07, 2023.
LPAs observed a total of 14 sinks and 11 toilets available for children’s use, which is sufficient for the requested capacity. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the staff restroom next to the main office.
LPAs observed a changing table located within the infant designated bathroom and within the preschool designated bathroom. Each was observed to have at least 1” padding covered with moisture resistant, washable material. Sides of the changing table are at least 3” high and the changing table is within arm’s reach of a sink. Diapering sink is not used for meal preparation or dishwashing. The Infant program has 3 cribs which meet regulatory requirements. Crib area is separated from activity space via a partition. This barrier is at least four feet high, made of sound absorbing material and allows for supervision of napping children. Sleep logs are kept in the crib area. Needs and Services Plans and Sleep Plans are kept in children’s file.
The facility will provide children with an AM and PM snack. Parents are responsible for children’s lunch. The kitchen area currently includes a sink, refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. The kitchen will be used as additional space for activities based on the Montessori curriculum and a waiver will requested. LPAs observed cleaning supplies are store in a cabinet above the kitchen sink. LPAs observed additional cleaning supplies are stored in the fire pane room.
