Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Susann Sanchez conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for an change in location at the above facility at 1:00 PM. LPA met with Anita Dickerson, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present was licensee adult children and husband who are all fingerprint cleared. There were no children present when LPA arrived. Per Licensee, hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 6:00pm. Licensee is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Licensee was reminded that care for children cannot exceed 24 hours in a day. Weekends as needed. Licensee states that she will care for children 0 months to 13 years of age.

This is a single story home consisting 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, garage, isolation room/office, backyard and front yard. Areas used by children include: Living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and back yard. There is an emergency exit located to the left of the kitchen. Children will also use the isolation room/office only when needed. Areas off limits include: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, garage and right side yard (gated).

The home was inspected for safety, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Knives and other sharp utensils are located in high shelf in the kitchen. Cleaning products are made inaccessible. The home is clean and orderly, there are outlet covers throughout the home. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were observed, tested and found to be operable. Fire clearance was granted on 11/30/23.

Licensee has completed the required health and safety training, the Pediatric First Aid and CPR Exp. 09/2025 Licensee has proof of immunization against pertussis and measles, influenza in file. Proof of Mandated Reporter Training was also submitted and expires on 09/13/2025.

LPAs observed age appropriate toys and learning materials. The required (2A10BC) fire extinguisher was observed in the kitchen. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the facility, none were observed by LPA. Licensee states they will provide food for children in care.

Per Licensee, the backyard for outdoor play time. Licensee stated that she will on walks and also visit Hemingway Park. Per Licensee they will also take field trips from time to time and drive to Dolphin Park. Per Licensee children will fully supervised when playing in the backyard. Safe and age appropriate toys were available. There are no bodies of water on the premises. The isolation area for a sick child waiting to be picked up will be in the isolation room next to the exit away from other children.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.



Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources /safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www .cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee as informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

On this date, 12/06/23, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ.
