25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection to the above mentioned address on 03/12/24 at 9:30 AM. LPA met with licensee, Fatima Castro, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. LPA observed no additional adults and no children present during this inspection. Individuals residing in the home have been noted and discussed. The licensee is requesting an address change to her family childcare home license. Per licensee, operation hours will be 7 days a week, 23 hours per day. Licensee will be caring for children age 0 to 13 years old.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to off limit areas. This is a one story home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, front yard (fenced), side yard, and back yard. The off limit areas included two bedrooms, kitchen, back yard, and side yard. The licensee understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.
Main care areas include the living room, bedroom and front yard. The living room was observed with a wall mounted television, children's carpet, child sized table, child sized chairs, age appropriate toys, and a ceiling fan. A wall space behind the front door was observed with required postings. The bedroom designated for children in care was observed with a play pen, one baby crib, and a baby changing station. Sleeping cots were also observed to be stored in the bedroom designated for children in care. Two first aid kits were observed stored in the bedroom on the wooden shelf. Wooden storage cabinets were observed to be bolted to the wall to prevent it from falling. A wooden children's gate was observed to be bolted into the wall making the hallway leading to the off limit bedrooms inaccessible. A second children's gate was observed at the entrance to the off limits kitchen. No sharp or pointy objects were observed to be accessible in the off-limits kitchen. The licensee states that she will provide food for children in care. Any food brought from the children’s homes shall be labeled with child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated.
