25 | Inspection was conducted in English with Andrea Escobar and translated in Spanish for applicant. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted a pre-licensing inspection on November 7, 2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:10am and met with David Amaya Mejia, Applicant, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present was applicant’s mother/landlord, and adult resident. During the inspection individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted. The applicant is requesting a small family childcare home license. Per applicant, operation hours will be 5:00am to 4:00am- Monday through Sunday. Applicant states that they (he/she) will care for children 0 to 13 years of age. Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected, including but not limited to, off limit areas. This is a one -story home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 full restroom in hallway, and half restroom located in the kitchen area, living room, dining area/kitchen, front yard, back yard (fenced). The backyard is split into two areas which are fenced. The children’s play yard is on the right side of the home (facing the home). There is a detached garage converted into an apartment in the backyard. The garage apartment is fenced and separate from the children’s play area. The garage apartment has its own entry/exit located on the left side of home (facing home). Relatives living in the garage apartment have been printed and cleared and associated to the facility. Per applicant, the children will use both restrooms, one in the hallway and the half bathroom in the kitchen. The living room will be used for children’s activities. Bedroom #1 located in the living room area, will be used for napping. The children will have meals in the dining room area located in kitchen. The kitchen is gated and off-limits to children. Bedroom #2 and Bedroom #3 are off-limits to children. Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service via cell phone. Ventilation and heating are available via central heat and air conditioning. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in areas designated for children. The applicant was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. Based on the Facility Sketch submitted, areas off limits to children and parents are Bedroom #2 located in hallway and applicant's bedroom #3 at end of |
