25 | On 12/30/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Brandon Tate conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Carol Potter. Also present was licensee’s husband. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 0630 – 1700 hours.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken during today’s inspection. There were no children in care today. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, bathroom, music room, and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door locks. There is an above ground spa in the backyard which is made inaccessible with a cover and licensee stated there is no water inside; This was confirmed by LPA Tate.
Licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559)683-3403. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training is expired as of 09/18/24. This poses a potential threat to the health, safety, and personal rights of children in care. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 02/21/25.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
