25 | On 02/05/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Denisia Jimenez conducted an unannounced case management inspection to discuss an incident report that was submitted to Community Care Licensing regarding an incident that occurred at the facility on 01/24/24. LPA met with Licensee, Celeste Rivera.
The licensee stated that on the date of the incident, Licensee had given Child #1 a tablet to play games on it because all the other children were going to sleep, and Child #1 was awake. Licensee was in the playroom putting the kids to sleep when she looked up and saw Child #1 crouched down, sideways on the couch. The licensee immediately walked over and checked on child #1 to see why he was crouched down. The licensee took the tablet from Child #1. The Licensee checked the history on the tablet and saw inappropriate contact was searched. The Licensee immediately contact both parents of Child #1. The Licensee no longer allows the children to use her tablets. Child #1 continues to attend the day care. LPA reminded the licensee to have visual supervision of children at all times whether they are inside or outside. There have been no further issues.
This appears to be an isolated incident. Although, licensee took appropriate measures to address the incident, following appropriate policies, regulations, and self reported the incident, Licensee is in violation of the regulation code 102423(a)(2). LPA will issue a Type B citation.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, this deficiency is being cited on the attached LIC 809D.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
