25 | On 10/10/2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez and Lady Cabrera conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee Rosa Ortiz. Also present was licensee’s assistant. Licensee is Spanish Speaking and LPA Vega-Gonzalez assisted with interpretation. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturdays 5:00am to 5:00pm.
LPAs toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPAs reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that hallway restroom, child care room, living room, dinning room, kitchen, and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of baby gates and lever handle locks.
There is no swimming pool. LPAs observed a 75-80 gallon fish tank in the living room. LPAs reviewed with Licensee best practices to have a firm lid for fish tank, and to supervise children at all times while they are around the fish tank area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. During the inspection LPA observed the following. In the hallway restroom: diaper cream, scent spray, hair spray. In the entrance hallway: an unopened Stella Rosa Wine bottle and Potty Here Pet Spray. In the Kitchen: a Cupcake sparkling wine bottle. Licensee removed items and made them inaccessible to children in care during inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Licensee informed LPAs that Licensee has 6 small dogs. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
