25 | On March 5, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nathan Garcia conducted a scheduled case management inspection to increase of capacity and met with licensee, Elizabeth Love. Licensee requested to increase from a Small to a Large Family Child Care. Fire Clearance was received by the department from Central Marin Fire Department on February 13, 2025. Present in the home is just the licensee. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance and are associated to the facility. Licensee has at least one year of FCCH experience.
Licensee owns the 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house with a backyard. The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-6:30pm during the school year and in the summer Monday-Thursday from 10:00am - 4:00pm. LPA and licensee inspected day care areas for health and safety hazards.
Daycare Areas: Backyard, Front yard, Living room/dining room, Bathroom #1 and Kitchen.
Off-limits Areas: Bedroom #1, #2 and #3 and Bathroom #2
LPA observed day care area to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. According to the licensee she only enrolls school age children, 9-15 years old. The facility operates as a cooking class/camp for school age children. Backyard is fenced and properly barricaded. LPA observed a hot tub in the backyard that is properly covered and locked. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There are 2 fully charged fire extinguisher located in the pantry. Per Licensee, there are no weapons/firearms in the home. Licensee's CPR & First Aid expires on 1/2026. Licensee's Mandated Reporter certificate expires on 8/2025. Helper's CPR is also valid. LPA reminded the licensee to have the helper take the mandated reporter training. Capacity limits of a Small and Large Family Child Care Home were explained.
LPA will recommend for approval of a Large Family Child Care Home License as of today, March 5, 2025.
No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
