32 | The applicant needs to physically separate the toddler option component from the infant area by adding a gate/ wall as a barrier to accomplish physical separation.
Outdoor Infants: The outdoor area for Infants measures 3637.5 square feet allowing for 48 infants. The infant program, toddler option component and preschool program will all share the outdoor activity space at separate times. LPA advised that a waiver will need to be submitted and approved for scheduled rotational usage between the infant, toddler option and preschool programs. Applicant will ensure all infants are provided with outdoor time each day. The outdoor area surface and equipment is observed to be clean, in good condition, and age appropriate, except for the climbing structure, which is not age appropriate for infants. The applicant will submit a written plan detailing how they will ensure that infants do not use or have access to the climbing structure when the infants are using the playground. Applicant also plans to clean the surface of the outdoor space more thoroughly, removing all small trash particles and finishing some landscaping. The facility uses portable shade structures to provide shade for the children. Drinking water will be made accessible to children by water bottles provided by the parents and cups and filtered water for older infant and toddler option age children.
The following items were reviewed as part of today's visit: Record keeping for staff, children and facility records, maintaining and updating needs and service plans for infants, Care and Supervision of the Children, Child Discipline Procedures- talking and redirection will be used as well as a thinking time chair, Emergency Evacuation Procedures- the facility will conduct monthly disaster drills and a log will be maintained for review upon request. , Medication Policies, Isolation of Sick Children, Napping Requirements (Safe Sleep and SIDS discussed), Completion of Individual Infant Sleeping Plans and supervision of napping infants, Food Service for Infants, Transportation-none provided, Parents Rights, and Reporting Requirements. Applicant will ensure all require postings are displayed and visible to children’s authorized representatives at all times and will submit proof the postings are in place. |
